Chinese American Foundation and Chinese American Federation Join Forces to Donate Relief Funds for Maui Hawaii Disaster of Wildfire
On August 8th, a devastating wildfire erupted on Maui Hawaii , marking the deadliest wildfire in over a century in the United States. It has already claimed the lives of at least 115 people, with thousands still missing. The raging fires have destroyed over 2,000 structures, leaving island residents displaced and suffering immense losses. Many of whom are fellow members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, as Chinese-Americans, we empathize deeply with the irreversible devastation and hardships inflicted upon the residents of Maʻi Island due to this wildfire.
On September 6th, under the initiative and leadership of Joey Yu, the CEO of Chinese American Foundation, jointly organized with Chinese American Federation to deliver donated $4000 relief funds to World Vision. World Vision will channel these contributions to the disaster-stricken areas on Maui Island.
