Since 1992, the U.S. government has established May each year as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in the United States to thank Asians for their contributions to the country. At this time of year, all walks of life in the United States hold celebrations and recognize the achievements of Asian Americans in business, culture and politics, and also hope to increase mutual understanding among various ethnic groups through activities. At this special time, the CAF Foundation and the Chinese American Federation jointly launched the first series of columns "Our Story" on the website of the CAF Foundation to celebrate this year’s Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
